In the new role, Tidwell will lead Wachovia’s teams responsible for the delivery of financial services tailored to the needs of affluent customers throughout the state. He will remain located in Atlanta.

Tidwell joined Wachovia in 1972 and has held positions as commercial lending and corporate loan administration officer, county executive and regional executive. He had executive responsibility for Wachovia’s banking activities in Charlotte and the southern and western counties of North Carolina before moving to Atlanta in 1999 to assume his current position.

Tidwell is a native of Charlotte and a graduate of North Carolina Central University. He received a master’s degree in business administration from the Babcock School of Management at Wake Forest University. He serves on the boards of the Atlanta Area Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America, the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, Lance Inc. and Ruddick Corporation.
