Adjustable Rate Loan
A loan with an interest rate that changes periodically, according to an index that is selected when the loan is issued. The initial interest rate is lower than that of fixed-rate loans, but monthly payments can go up or down as the rate is adjusted. (Also known as a variable rate loan.)
