What is Online Deposits?
Online Deposits is a secure service that allows you to scan paper checks from your desktop and electronically send the images to Wachovia for deposit through the Internet.
Do I have to purchase special software to use Online Deposits?
No, Online Deposits is accessible on the Internet through Wachovia Business Online.
What are the system requirements for using Online Deposits?
  • An Internet connection with Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. Windows 2000 operating system with an Internet Explorer 7.0 connection is not currently supported.
  • Microsoft® Windows 2000 or Windows XP Operating System with 512MB RAM.
  • Correct proxy server/firewall settings. Typically, the default settings on your PC will be sufficient.  If you have specified custom settings, they may need to be modified or changed to the default settings.
What fees are charged for using Online Deposits?

Customers can enjoy the convenience of Online Deposits for as little as $3 a day, which includes the $45 monthly maintenance fee and  $17/month lease of a Wachovia approved single-feed scanner through our preferred vendor. Customers using a Custom Business Banking Checking account receive $10 off the monthly maintenance fee.

Monthly Maintenance:
Up to 2 Accounts: $45
3-5 Accounts: $65, then $10 each additional account

Deposited Items:
50 free per account per month, then $0.25/each

Is Online Deposits secure?

Wachovia uses advanced technology to protect the confidentiality of your financial activities while you are online.  We require a User ID and password to access any account information using Online Deposits. Account information is only displayed in the secure Wachovia Business Online application, where firewalls block unauthorized users from accessing your account information.

What scanners are supported for Online Deposits?

Can I use a scanner I already own for Wachovia Online Deposits?
You can use any of the Wachovia approved check scanners listed at wachovia.com/scanners. However, Wachovia's preferred scanner provider is Digital Check. Wachovia will only provide troubleshooting assistance for Digital Check scanners. If you choose to use another scanner type, you must contact the manufacturer for problem resolution.
Where can I purchase a Wachovia approved scanner and supplies?
Wachovia has negotiated very competitive pricing on select Digital Check scanners. You can purchase a Wachovia approved check scanner at http://scanners.superior-press.com.

What supplies are needed for ongoing operation of the scanner?
Scanner Ink cartridges and cleaning kits are recommended to properly maintain you check scanners.
When am I able to submit my deposits?
Deposits can be submitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How many checks can I include in one deposit?

A maximum of 100 checks can be included in a single deposit.

Can multiple deposits be submitted each day?
Yes, multiple deposits can be submitted each day.
By what time does an online deposit need to be submitted for same day processing?

Deposits received by Wachovia by 8:00 PM ET are processed on the same business day and are subject to the funds availability schedules provided during Online Deposits enrollment.

How long should I retain the original checks?

Wachovia requires you to retain the original checks for a minimum of 30 days.  Once you've determined that the checks have been processed, the amount of time that you retain the originals should be determined by you and your legal counsel.

Do I need to use paper deposit tickets when using Online Deposits?
No. Physical deposit tickets cannot be used for any deposit made through Online Deposits. Online Deposits automatically creates an electronic deposit ticket for each deposit.
What kind of checks can be processed through Online Deposits?

Checks payable in U.S. dollars and drawn on any U.S. bank including but not limited to the following:

  • Personal Checks
  • Business Checks
  • Treasury Checks
  • Traveler's Checks
  • Money Orders
Can foreign currency checks be processed through Online Deposits?
No. Online Deposits is only for checks payable in U.S. dollars and drawn on banks in the United States.
Can I export, save and print images of my deposited items?
You are able to produce reports from Online Deposits, one of which—the Detail Image Report—includes check images embedded in the report.  These reports can be downloaded, saved and printed.
How long can I view information about my submitted deposits?

You are able to view information about a submitted deposit for 30 calendar days. If you need access to the deposit after 30 days, please call (800) 566-3862 Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 9:00pm for assistance.
