ONLINE SECURITY
Keeping your account secure is a responsibility we take very seriously. Here are a few of the reasons you can feel confident that your account will remain private and secure:
- Our Internet site provides account access only via browsers that support Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and 128-bit encryption. Those browsers include:
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer (Version 6.0 or higher)
- Netscape (Version 6.2 or higher)
- America Online (7 or higher)
- Our network has a built-in timeout that will end your session after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- We require that you provide certain personal information that we use to identify you before granting online account access. A user profile will not be established on our network until you complete the registration process.
Prevention of Unauthorized Account Access
To prevent any attempts to guess your Password, we disable accounts after five unsuccessful login attempts. In addition, the system will not acknowledge a valid User ID until the correct Password is also provided, so hackers can’t attempt to confirm your User ID by guessing at your Password.
You can help keep your account secure by safeguarding your User ID and Password, and avoiding the use of obvious passwords, such as birth dates and children’s names. Also, you can ensure that your browser session is encrypted each time you log in. Most browsers use an image of a key or a lock in the lower right corner of the screen. If the key is broken or the lock is open, then your browser session is not encrypted.
