I have a tax escrow account and have received a tax bill. What should I do?
This free service is a convenient way to ensure that your tax and insurance payments are always made on time. You simply set up an escrow account (also known as an impound account), which enables you to pay your property taxes, private mortgage insurance premiums, or hazard insurance payments in equal installments over a 12-month period. These installments are incorporated into your monthly or bi-weekly mortgage payment to World Savings. It's a sure, consistent way to handle these important obligations.
It's easy to set up your free escrow account for either taxes, insurance, or both. Please call (800) 642-0257, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm, CT.
Or, fill out the following form and return it to the address below:
World Savings
Attention: Tax Department
P.O. Box 659558
San Antonio, TX 78265-9558
Fax number: (210) 509-1168
Once you've set up your escrow account, log in to Online Banking to view current and past year-to-date information for established escrow accounts and their respective balances.
If you are not currently an Online Banking customer, you can enroll now or call us at 800-WACHOVIA (800-922-4684). We're here to help you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If the excess is $25 or more and your loan is current, a refund will be sent within 30 days of an annual review of your escrow account. If the excess is less than $25, it will be credited to next year's installments.
World Savings pays interest in accordance with individual state laws.
If the bill you received is the original regular tax bill and not a copy, you will need to mail or fax it so we can make the payment from your escrow account.
