WHAT ARE THE RATES AND FEES?

Current Rates
Normally, Graduate PLUS Loans come with a competitive fixed interest rate of 8.5%.

When you choose Wachovia as your lender, your fixed rate will be reduced to 7.9% immediately upon full disbursement of your loan.¹ See “How can I save money on this loan?” for more details.

Although no payments are required while you are enrolled half time or more, be aware that interest begins to accrue from the date of disbursement.

As with other education loans, your interest payments may be tax deductible, so consult with a tax advisor for complete details.

Standard Fees
Two standard fees will be deducted from your Graduate PLUS Loan at the time of disbursement. A 3% origination fee will be charged by the Department of Education and your loan guarantor may charge a 1% federal default fee. The loan amount you must repay will include these deducted fees.

Wachovia will not charge any additional fees.
