WHEN DO I HAVE TO START MAKING PAYMENTS?
With the Graduate PLUS Loan, no payments are required while you are enrolled at least half time. Repayment begins after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time enrollment. Your first payment will be due up to 60 days after repayment begins.
Once you begin repayment, you will be able to choose between several repayment options. Graduate PLUS Loans normally have a 10-year repayment period.
Choose one of five repayment
plans:
- Standard
Repayment-This plan gives you a fixed monthly payment amount. (Minimum
payment will be at least $50.)
- Graduated
Repayment-This plan starts with a low payment then increases over time.
- Income-Sensitive
Repayment -This plan gives you monthly payments based on your annual income.
- Extended Repayment - For customers
with more than $30,000 in eligible loans, this plan offers standard or graduated
payments over an extended repayment period of up to 25 years.
- Loan Consolidation - This loan can be combined with other
eligible loans into a new loan with a reduced monthly payment and a fixed
interest rate.
No matter which plan you choose we’ll help you save during the repayment period with our exclusive savings.
Are you having difficulty making payments? We can help.
If you ever have trouble making your loan payments, you may qualify for temporary forbearance. This option can postpone your repayment schedule, but the interest will continue to accrue. See the links below for more details.
