Cover the Total Cost of Education

The Graduate PLUS Loan can be used to cover up to 100 percent of your total cost of education, minus other financial aid you’ve been awarded. The total amount can pay for tuition, books, food, housing, transportation, and more.

While you will be required to pass a credit check when you apply, your resulting credit score will not affect your eligibility for the Graduate PLUS Loan. Many students with limited or no credit history can still qualify for the Graduate PLUS Loan.

¹ Fixed rate of 8.5% is reduced by 0.60% immediately after the first disbursement. This incentive interest rate is not affected by in-school deferment. The immediate interest rate reduction is not retained if the first 12 scheduled payments are not made on time. Once all of the first 12 scheduled payments are made on time, the interest rate reduction becomes a permanent feature of your PLUS Loan while it is held by Wachovia and terminates only upon loan default, loan transfer to the guarantor or insurer, or inclusion of your PLUS Loan in a consolidation loan. Rebate of 3% is subtracted from accrued interest 180 days after full disbursement. These benefit programs may be modified or discontinued at any time without notice. Program changes will not affect loans subject to the benefit program offer prior to the time of the change. Borrower is responsible for payment of applicable taxes.
