SECURE MESSAGESHere you'll find answers to questions regarding Wachovia's Secure Messages. What are Secure Messages? What are Secure Messages?Secure Messages are a private and secure way for you to send and receive email messages. Messages sent through Secure Messages are secure, unlike regular email sent over the Internet. This security means that any information contained in the message, such as sensitive account data, never leaves the security of our site. Why doesn’t the answer to my question go to my Internet email address?Standard email sent over the Internet is not secure. As a result, messages could be intercepted by a third party. To prevent this, we do not respond to your questions by sending an email to you via the Internet. Instead, we deliver them to your Online Services Secure Messages. This way, any sensitive information in the message, such as account numbers, never leaves the security of our site. We do, however, send a notification to your Internet email address that we have responded to your question through Secure Messages. How do I know when you’ve responded to my message? We’ll send an email to your Internet email address notifying that your response is ready and that it can be viewed when you log in to Online Banking. Once logged in, click View Messages in the Customer Service box on the right-hand side of the My Accounts page. How long is my message available for viewing? The message will remain in your Inbox folder for 90 calendar days and will then be deleted. How long will it be before I have an answer to my question? We should deliver an answer through Secure Messages within two business days of your request. We will also send an email to the Internet email address you have on file notifying you that we have responded to your message and asking you to log in to Online Banking to view our response in Secure Messages. If you need immediate assistance, please contact us at (800) 950-2296, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |
