First Union Launches Enhanced Site for Business Customers

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—First Union Corporation (NYSE: FTU) recently redesigned its website for business customers on www.firstunion.com. As part of this redesign, First Union streamlined content, improved navigation and introduced a uniform look for the business portion of the site.

"The enhanced site improves the online customer experience by providing quick and convenient access to content," said Kellie Scott, senior vice president and director of eChannels at First Union.  "We're committed to enhancing our online service by #160;improving site content to meet our customer needs.  That's exactly what this new site is all about and was clearly driven by our customers."

During the redesign process, First Union's eChannels division worked with customers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 clients.  Using focus groups and other interactive forums, First Union gathered feedback to develop the site strategy, which then drove the overall design.

"This redesign is significant in that it is a major step in the ongoing commitment to our customer-centric approach to online services," said Courtenay Buchan, Wholesale Executive Producer.  "The web site reflects how our customers want to interact with us,  not how First Union is organized.  Customers want quick access to services and solutions, and they want it in their own language - that is what this redesign delivers."
