"We are pleased to have the first phase of our facilities project completed with the leasing of the 41st and 42nd floors in the premier office building in Tampa," said J. Kenneth Coppedge, Wachovia’s Florida Banking president. "By making this move, we want to underscore Wachovia’s commitment to fulfilling the financial services needs of our customers here and building new relationships throughout Central Florida. We are eager to complete the second phase of our facilities expansion, which will include the opening of five or six branches in Hillsborough County. Our goal is to offer customers access to the broadest, highest quality financial services available."

Wachovia’s Tampa Real Estate Financial Services, Corporate Financial Services and Dealer Financial Services office located at 4830 West Kennedy, Suite 270, will relocate to the 100 North Tampa building in early October. In addition, this site will house a new Private Banking unit, Small Business Lending Specialists and Regional Retail Operations. The specific locations for the new Tampa bank branches and ATMs will be announced as the real estate transactions are completed.

In addition to the new state headquarters, Wachovia will continue to have an Eastern region headquarters in West Palm Beach.
