First Union Offers Special Loan Help in the Event of Damage from Hurricane Floyd CHARLOTTE, NC - First Union is offering special home improvement loans at below-market rates to residents who might suffer property damage from Hurricane Floyd. The bank is also offering a 60-day extension at no fee on consumer loans and prime equity lines for First Union customers who might suffer financial setbacks as a result of the hurricane. First Union has established special hotlines to assist those impacted by the storm. For loan extensions, customers can call 1-800-347-1131. For equity line extensions, customers can call 1-800-249-3869. The special loan programs will focus on home improvement and existing First Union loans. For new consumer loans, the first payment can be deferred for 90 days. This offer applies only to residents of counties impacted by Hurricane Floyd. First Union will also be offering special services to employees in the event of damage from the hurricane.
