First Union Offers Tornado Victims Assistance MADISON, NC - First Union is ready to help residents and businesses of Rockingham County who are faced with property damage or financial hardships as a result of the tornadoes that struck the area last Friday. First Union loan counselors can expedite loans requests from tornado victims. Businesses or individuals who are already First Union customers may also be eligible for a 30-day extension on their existing loans or credit cards with no extension fee. "This is a difficult time for many people who have sustained property damage, and we're pleased to offer a financial solution that may make their lives a little easier," said Harvey Dillon, First Union's Madison market executive. "We will try to work on a case-by-case basis with those needing financial assistance to find a solution to their needs." First Union is also working with the Salvation Army in Rockingham County to offer volunteer assistance.
