Wachovia Receives Philanthropy Award in Charlotte

Wachovia Bank, N.A., has been named Outstanding Philanthropic Organization by the Charlotte chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives.

The award, presented Nov. 15, recognizes outstanding commitment to the community through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.

"Wachovia is committed to the communities we serve," said Tim V. Crist, senior vice president and Charlotte city executive for Wachovia. "By providing financial support and assistance for education, the arts, health and human services, affordable housing, economic development and other community needs, Wachovia promotes and contributes to economic and social progress."
