Wachovia Announces Participation in 26th Annual AFP Conference
Wachovia Leaders to Attend; Firm to Sponsor Pinnacle Awards and Speakers

CHARLOTTE, NC –Wachovia announced today its participation in the 26th annual Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) conference, the nation’s premier conference for treasury and finance professionals, scheduled this year for October 9-12 in San Antonio, Texas.

“The annual AFP Conference provides the perfect venue to meet with our clients and hear firsthand about the challenges they face as treasury and cash managers,” said Ranjana Clark, Executive Vice President and Head of Wachovia’s Treasury Services Division. “It’s a forum where financial colleagues of all levels can share knowledge and objective opinions of the rapidly changing cash management industry.”

For the ninth consecutive year, Wachovia will sponsor the Pinnacle Awards. The 2005 Pinnacle Awards are designed to recognize companies that have demonstrated innovation, insightful use of technology, adherence to compliance and risk management, and strategic partnering to implement creative treasury services solutions in their companies.

As part of this year’s conference, several Wachovia executives will lead educational sessions with Wachovia clients and vendors, including:

  • Jane Verkouteren, Senior Vice President with Wachovia’s Treasury Services Division; Katria Kowal, Treasury Manager with Sunoco, Inc.; and Robert Tonkinson, Chief Financial Officer with The Carle Foundation -- "Fraud Control - Size Doesn't Matter”
  • Scott Leavitt, Senior Vice President with Wachovia’s Treasury Services Division, and Douglas Downey, Assistant Vice President with HCA, Inc. -- “Treasury Management - Fresh Ideas and Innovative Practices”
  • Francine Smith with Wachovia’s Treasury Services Division, and Gail Ball, Senior Vice President with Treasury NCO Group, Inc. -- “Practicing What We Preached: Update on Bank Report Cards”
  • Laurence Leinbach, Senior Vice President with Wachovia’s Treasury Services Division, and Adam Dolby, Business Development with VASCO Data Security International, Inc. -- “How Secure Are You? Asking and Answering the Questions of Two-Factor Authentication”
  • Weldon Jones, Vice President with Wachovia’s Treasury Services Division, and Donald Craddick, Founder of BancBridge Software Systems Inc., Inc. -- “File Transfer Made Cheap and Easy”

Along with Clark, a number of Wachovia’s Treasury Services executives will attend the AFP this year, including Michael Daley, Head of the Product Solutions group; Roger Pearce, Head of Client Management; and leaders of Wachovia’s Treasury Services’ Payables, Receivables, Image and Information Access Teams. Colleagues from Evergreen Investments, a Wachovia Corporation subsidiary, will also be present at the conference.
