NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING GRANTS

Neighborhood Planning Grants support the development of resident-driven neighborhood plans that take comprehensive approaches to revitalization. Grants vary in size from $25,000 to $100,000. Grants are approved once each year through a competitive selection process and are disbursed based on performance over a twelve- to eighteen-month period.

All planning grantees participate in robust evaluation processes designed to inform the plan's development, enhance collaboration and create a baseline for measuring the effectiveness of the plan's implementation. The evaluation includes the systemic surveying of residents about the quality of life, quarterly reporting on agreed upon milestones and deliverables, and cataloguing neighborhood assets and investments.

Neighborhood Planning Grants support direct expenses that are essential to the planning process such as: planning consultants and/or staff, outreach and neighborhood organizing functions, community meetings, and advisory group development.  Grants are designed to support neighborhood plans, not strategic or business plans for the organization.
