ASSESSMENTS

Our assessments challenge you to think logically and analytically, while providing us with more information about your experiences, work preferences, and other job-related skills and abilities. Our selection assessments not only allow us to make objective hiring decisions, but they’ve also been statistically proven to predict on-the-job performance. Depending on the position you are seeking, you may take one or more tests that assess your ability to:

  • Understand and interpret written information
  • Choose from a set of preferences to indicate your interests and motivations
  • Draw logical conclusions based on information provided
  • Choose best/worst responses from simulations or situational questions
  • Perform arithmetical calculations

Wachovia administers assessments in a controlled, proctored environment as well as an unproctored environment depending on the type of information we are assessing for. Our most common form of assessment is a computer-based assessment; however, writing exercises, job simulations, and, written tests may also be administered. You will be provided detailed instructions on how to take the assessment and given the appropriate tools (paper, pencil, answer sheets, etc.) to complete the assessment if needed.

Some tips to remember:

If you are coming onsite to a Wachovia facility to assess:

  • Bring your photo ID—you will have to reschedule your assessment if a photo ID is not presented.
  • Bring reading glasses or other aids you may need to take the assessment.
  • Give us advance notice of any special accommodation you may need to complete the assessment
  • Listen carefully to instructions given by the assessment proctor. Be sure you understand the practice items.
  • If you’re unsure of the instructions or time required to take the assessment, ask the proctor to clarify.
  • Read each question carefully before making an answer.
  • Monitor the time yourself—make sure you have a watch with you on the day of the assessment.

If you are taking an assessment from home or other location of your choice:

  • Your assessment will be emailed to you using the email address you provided in your candidate profile.
  • You may not receive assistance in completing the assessment.
  • Falsification of any information provided during the selection or assessment process will result in your removal from the selection process and may impact future consideration for employment at Wachovia.
  • Read each question carefully before making an answer.
  • If you experience technical difficulties, contact the help number provided to you in your instructions.
