Mark C. Lamarre Named Head of Equity Private Placements Group at Wachovia Securities
Charlotte, NC - Wachovia Securities today announced that Mark C. Lamarre has joined the firm as Managing Director and Head of the Equity Private Placements Group. Lamarre will report to Jeff Armstrong, Head of Wachovia's Mergers and Acquisitions and Financial Sponsors Group.

His wide range of financial, product and sector knowledge, as well as his strong relationships in the venture capital and private equity community, will help us continue building our business," said Armstrong.
Lamarre, 39, will lead the Equity Private Placements Group from Charlotte. The group, which is comprised of three senior professionals, identifies, originates and executes equity private placement transactions.
Lamarre has 14 years of investment banking experience, most recently as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he managed the Internet Infrastructure and Services industry group. During his tenure at the firm, Lamarre oversaw initial public and follow-on equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, private placements and other capital raising and advisory services for corporate clients.
Prior to joining CSFB, Lamarre worked for Cowen & Company, a technology and health care investment banking firm, where he managed transaction origination and industry sector coverage. Lamarre also has worked as a banker at Bank of Boston Corporation and Merrill Lynch & Co.
In 1990, Lamarre earned an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in 1986.
