As part of Wachovia's commitment to preserving the environment, our new Financial Centers are being built using green building practices to help reduce their impact on the environment. Read on about some of the green features that will be incorporated into the new buildings.

Active Daylighting

• Clearstories above vision glass to reflect daylight into the lobby and workspaces
• Overhead lights along building perimeter that automatically dim with increased daylight

Innovative Water Technologies

• Low flow and sensor enabled fixtures will use 44% less water than a conventionally designed branch

Enhanced Human Health And Employee Productivity

• Low toxicity finishes throughout space
• More daylight into workspaces
• Indoor Air Quality meets stringent standards and prevents tobacco smoke in and around building

Encouraging Environmentally Friendly Transportation

• Preferred parking for low emitting fuel efficient cars and carpools
• Easy access to mass transportation options
• Easy access to several basic services within ½ mile

Closed Loop Processes

• Implementing an employee recycling program for plastic, glass and aluminum and improving the paper recycling program
• Using waste management plans to divert construction waste from landfills
• Using building products with recycled content, such as metals, sheetrock, carpet, and furniture
