Certification
To qualify as a Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE), your business must be certified by an official certification agency. These organizations, as well as other local, state, and federal government agencies provide third-party certification services:
Second Tier Initiative
It is a policy of Wachovia that M/WBEs have the maximum amount of opportunities to participate in its supplier contracts. Suppliers who are minority- and/or women-owned businesses, or suppliers who subcontract work to, or use such business to provide products and services to their business provide significant value to Wachovia.
Wachovia’s Second Tier Suppliers are subcontractors and/or suppliers used by a Wachovia contracted supplier to provide products and/or services under their Wachovia contract. All Wachovia suppliers are required to provide quarterly reports to Wachovia that specify total dollars invoiced by and paid to M/WBEs as Second Tier Suppliers. Please see Reporting Requirements for additional information.
