Foreign Exchange
Foreign money. In addition to currency and coin, foreign exchange includes bank assets and liabilities payable in foreign in relation to another currency. Rates of exchange are established and quoted for various foreign currencies based on the demand, supply and stability of the currency. Foreign exchange is the means by which values are established for foreign merchandise, thus permitting the exchange of commodities between countries.
