Estimated Tax
A tax payment to the IRS, either through regular payroll or on a quarterly basis, if the taxpayer is self-employed, retired, or has trust income. For most people, the estimated tax payments must total at least 90% of the actual tax bill; otherwise, penalties and interest are incurred.
