Bank Notes
Bank Notes2 are obligations of Wachovia Bank, National Association and other banks. They are not deposits, and therefore are not insured by the FDIC.
Bankers' Acceptances
Bankers' Acceptances1 are drafts drawn by a commercial firm upon a bank and "accepted" by the bank.
Commercial Paper
Commercial Paper2 is an unsecured promissory note issued by industrial, commercial, or financial companies.
Eurodollar Time Deposits
Time Deposits1 with Wachovia's Cayman Islands Branch are unconditional obligations of Wachovia Bank, National Association, which are repaid at maturity. They are subject to the laws and regulations of the Cayman Islands, including any restrictions on withdrawals that may be imposed by that country.
Federal Agency Securities
Federal Agencies2 are authorized by Congress to support specific needs in the nation's economy. These agencies finance their funding requirements through the public sale of discount notes and debentures.
Jumbo CDs
Large denomination certificates of deposit1 are issued in minimum amounts of $100,000. Total deposit balances are insured to the maximum allowed by the FDIC, currently $100,000.
Money Market Mutual Funds
A diversified, short-term fund2 that seeks to provide its investors with competitive interest income, consistent with preservation of capital, and maintenance of liquidity.
Municipal Notes and Bonds
Debt obligations of state or local governments,2 their political subdivisions, agencies, and authorities.
Repurchase Agreements
Involve a short-term sale of securities by the Bank and their subsequent repurchase2 after a specified period of time.
Treasury Notes and Bonds
Obligations of the U.S. Government that pay the bearer a fixed sum at the bills' maturity date, with interest income paid semiannually.2
US Treasury Bills
Obligations of the U.S. Government that pay the bearer a fixed sum at the maturity date.2
Variable Rate Demand Notes
A long term, taxable, or tax-exempt bond issued on a variable rate basis.2
