Wachovia Corporate and Institutional Trust Appointed Transfer Agent for Phelps Dodge Corporation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Wachovia Corporate and Institutional Trust announced today that it has been appointed stock transfer agent for Phelps Dodge Corporation (NYSE:PD). Headquartered in Phoenix, Ariz., Phelps Dodge is a global leader in the mining and manufacturing industries, employing 13,000 people in 27 countries.
