BALANCE CONFIRMATION SERVICES

The Balance Confirmation Services Department responds to commercial credit inquiries requested by trade inquirers or other financial institutions and completes audit confirmations requests for Wachovia's commercial customers to their CPAs or audit firms.

Credit Inquiries
Trade inquirers or other financial institutions may request credit inquiries, including demand deposits, time deposits, and loans on a Wachovia commercial customer by faxing or mailing a written inquiry request.

Information Needed:

• Inquiring party company name, address, phone number, and fax number
• Name of the individual making the inquiry, specific reason for the inquiry, and the dollar amount involved in the transaction
• Customer's Name, address, and signature authorizing the release of credit information is required
  Note: Typed or printed signatures are not acceptable
• Customer tax id number and account number, if available

Written inquiries are responded to in the order in which they are received. Normal response time is within three business days by mail or fax per your request.

Audit Confirmations
Audit firms or CPAs may request audit confirmations on Wachovia commercial customers by faxing or mailing a written inquiry request.

Please include the following required information with your request:

• Name and address of the audit firm 
• Name of the Wachovia customer for whom the audit is being prepared
• Signature of the customer, authorizing the information to be released
• The "As Of" Balance Date
• Account numbers

Audit confirmations are normally completed within three business days plus mailing time. Audit responses are mailed via US Mail or faxed directly to the requesting audit firm or CPA.
