(1) For commercial, an allowance from the quoted price of goods usually made by the deduction of a certain percentage from the invoice price.

(2) In foreign exchange, the adjustment to a spot price made in order to arrive at a quote for future delivery. The discount usually represents interest rate differences between two countries.
