First Union Global Cash Management Holds Treasury Management Seminar

First Union Global Cash Management Division presents one of a series of Treasury Management Matters seminars in Jacksonville, Thursday, May 28.

Speakers at this educational seminar will address several issues: Year 2000, fraud prevention, enhanced short-term investment management, treasury issues and trends, unique applications of PC-based information reporting, electronic commerce and purchasing cards.

David Orr, First Union's Chief Economist, will kick off the morning by giving an economic outlook. Jack Mitchell, Vice Chairman of First Union Florida Bank, will speak on the state of the industry at lunch.

"This informational seminar provides an excellent forum for clients to learn about the industry trends as well as a great opportunity to interact with peers and share ideas," said Marty Lanahan, vice president and Florida sales manager. "This seminar has always had a tremendous response in other locations and we are proud to offer it in Jacksonville."

First Union's Treasury Management Matters seminar is approved for four CCM renewal credits by the Treasury Management Association, and it is also eligible for CPA continuing education credits. It will be held at the Marriott SouthPoint in Jacksonville from 8:00am to 1:30pm; more than 100 attendees are expected.

Electronic commerce, Internet services, nationwide lockbox processing and a variety of PC-based options are among the many cash management services available at First Union. First Union offers a full range of collection, disbursement, information reporting and electronic commerce services designed to improve day-to-day efficiency of company treasury operations and maximize company return on cash assets. First Union's cash management products have earned top marks in surveys by Phoenix-Hecht and Ernst & Young. First Union is the third largest cash management bank in the country, according to Ernst & Young.
