Wachovia Leaders to Attend 2003 SIBOS Conference in Singapore
Wachovia to host exhibit booth, luncheons

Charlotte, NC - Wachovia announced today its participation in the annual SIBOS Conference to be held Oct. 20 - 24 in Singapore. SIBOS is the world's premier financial services event, attracting the industry's leading figures and firms. The conference is sponsored by SWIFT, an industry-owned cooperative organization, which supplies messaging services and interface software to financial institutions in 200 countries.

"The annual SIBOS Conference is a wonderful venue at which we can talk to our customers and hear, firsthand, their thoughts on challenges and opportunities facing our industry," said Michael Heavener, Executive Vice President and head of Wachovia's International Division. "We are excited to host a booth and two informational luncheon sessions at the conference this year, and we think it will be an excellent event for all involved."

Wachovia's International Division will host an exhibit booth at this year's conference, where customers can learn about all the products and services the division has to offer. Representatives from Global Financial Institutions, Global Trade Services, Global Payments, International Credit Products, Global Treasury Services and Global Custody will be on hand to answer questions.

Products highlighted at this year's conference include Trade and Cash Management Outsourcing, Global Payments, Global Collections, Custody and the bank's growing suite of Web-based solutions.

During the conference Wachovia will sponsor two customer luncheons, hosted by Ranjana Clark, Executive Vice President and head of Treasury Services, and Steven Nichols, Managing Director and head of the Global Trade Services Group. The luncheons will focus on "Channel Revolution: Global Reach for Local Needs," and "New Business Models and Realities in the Global Trade Services Industry," respectively.

Along with Heavener, Clark and Nichols, a number of Wachovia leaders will attend SIBOS this year, including:
  • Bridget-Anne Hampden, Chief Information Officer of Wachovia's Corporate and Investment Bank
  • George Doolittle, Managing Director of Global Payment Services
  • Ronald Haverkorn, Managing Director and head of International Credit Products Group
  • Barbara Stockler, Senior Vice President and head of Alliance Services
  • Michael Daley, Senior Vice President and head of Treasury Product Solutions Group
  • Paul Cahill, Vice President and Director of Global Custody.
Global Financial Institutions Regional Managers, Yung-Chang Ho (Asia), Carlos Perez (Latin America) and Steven Bash (Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Sub-continent and Global Government Banking), also will attend.
