Karl joins First Union Securities from C. E. Unterberg, Towbin, where he was a partner and senior analyst covering communications semiconductors. Prior to Unterberg, Karl was an associate analyst with Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown where he was part of a research team covering a broad range of semiconductor companies. Karl received his BA from the University of Massachusetts.
