Decker comes to Wachovia Securities after six years at Barclays Capital in London, where he served as the firm's head of Convertible Origination and was responsible for Barclays' convertible business in Europe and Asia. When he first joined Barclays, Decker was head of the Convertible Bond research team and managed a team of four analysts, covering European and Asian convertibles.

Before joining Barclays, Decker worked at Morgan Stanley for seven years in the firm's Convertible Securities Research area. He received both a bachelor's degree and a master's in business from Duke University.
