Sharon Weinstein and Elizabeth Marin Join Wachovia Securities Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Wachovia Securities announced today that Sharon Weinstein has joined the firm as a managing director, and Elizabeth Marin has joined the firm as a director in the Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group. Weinstein will focus on origination and execution of corporate finance business for depository institutions, and Marin will focus on specialty finance companies. Both will be based in the firm’s New York office.

Weinstein comes to Wachovia Securities from Banc of America Securities, where she was a principal in the Financial Institutions Group. Both in her work at Banc of America Securities and throughout her career, Weinstein has provided strategic solutions and managed extensive relationships with senior management at banking and financial institution companies. Marin also comes to Wachovia Securities from Banc of America Securities, where she was a principal in the Financial Institutions Group and worked on a variety of capital raising and mergers and acquisitions transactions for her specialty finance clients.

Before joining Banc of America, Weinstein covered the commercial banking industry for nearly 15 years, including five years at JP Morgan Chase in the firm’s Financial Institutions Group. Marin began her career at Salomon Smith Barney, where she worked in the Financial Institutions Group for six years. She joined Banc of America Securities’ Financial Institutions Group in 2001.
