Wachovia Securities Names Jeff Armstrong Head of Corporate Finance Group
CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Wachovia Securities announced today that Jeff Armstrong, a Managing Director and 6-year veteran of the firm, has been named the new Head of Corporate Finance. Armstrong, who is based in Charlotte, is assuming a new position at the firm and will report to Kevin Roche, Head of Investment Banking.
"In his various leadership positions at Wachovia, Jeff has demonstrated great drive, commitment and an unwavering client focus as he has worked to improve many aspects of our business. As Head of Corporate Finance, Jeff will have direct responsibility for the 12 investment banking origination groups. The groups are as follows: Consumer and Retail, Defense and Aerospace, Energy and Power, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Industrial Growth, IT and Business Services, Media and Communications, Real Estate, Technology, International and Strategic Advisory.
Armstrong joined Wachovia in 1999 from Salomon Smith Barney, where he was a Managing Director in the Financial Sponsors Group. His most recent position at Wachovia was Head of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Sponsors Group, which also included responsibility for the Equity Private Placements Group.
