Alan Mitchell Joins Wachovia Securities Media & Communications Investment Banking Group

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Wachovia Securities announced today that Alan Mitchell has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Media & Communications Investment Banking practice, reporting to Greg Attorri, Head of Wachovia's Media & Communications Investment Banking Group.

Mitchell joins Wachovia Securities from the investment bank Viant Group LLC, where he was Managing Partner and President. Prior to Viant Group, Mitchell was a Managing Director in the Global Communications Group at Salomon Smith Barney / Citigroup. He will be based in Charlotte and will initially focus on relationship management of large capitalization telecommunications companies.

"Alan brings years of industry experience, strong transaction execution skills and demonstrated leadership to this position," Attorri said. "We are excited about the contribution Alan will make to this team and to the firm as we look to build our momentum in the media and communications sector."

Mitchell earned his M.B.A. in finance and international business from Columbia Business School, where he graduated with honors, and his B.B.A. in accounting from Texas A&M University. Mitchell is also a Certified Public Account.
