J. Stuart White III Joins Wachovia Securities Mergers & Acquisitions Group

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Wachovia Securities announced today that J. Stuart White III has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisition practice, reporting to Jeff Armstrong, Head of Wachovia's Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Sponsors Groups.

In his new role, White will be responsible for providing advisory services for Wachovia's clients and will be based in New York.

"Stuart brings years of investment banking experience to this platform advising public and private companies on buyside and sellside transactions. We are continuing to grow that business and know that Stuart will prove a valuable asset to the firm in those efforts," said Armstrong.

Previously, White was a Managing Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at CIBC World Markets, where he set direction for strategic marketing and transaction execution for both public and private companies, particularly in the healthcare, telecom, steel and energy sectors. Prior to CIBC, White worked in the Investment Banking Services Group at Goldman Sachs and the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Smith Barney.

White earned his M.B.A. from New York University and his B.A. from the University of Virginia.
