Wachovia Names Roderich (Rick) M. Carr Executive Search Consultant for Corporate and Investment Bank

Charlotte, NC - Wachovia Securities today announced that Rick Carr has been named Managing Director and Executive Search Consultant for the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB), focusing on identifying and recruiting candidates from diverse backgrounds for senior-level positions throughout CIB. Carr will report to Kevin Roche, Head of Investment Banking. Carr replaces Cliff Strain, who resumed his role as senior coverage officer in the Financial Sponsors Group.

"I am very pleased that Rick is taking on the position of CIB Executive Search Consultant. This position is critical to the development of the Corporate and Investment Bank in terms of maximizing our ability to recruit people of all backgrounds in senior roles," said Roche. "We are confident that with more than 20 years of investment banking experience, including more than 14 years in Fixed Income, Rick will be able to help make Wachovia the employer of choice for all identity groups."

As the CIB Executive Search Consultant, Carr will primarily focus on recruiting for senior level roles (Vice President and above) and will partner with CIB's Recruiting Team to increase the number of channels through which diverse candidates are introduced to all positions in CIB. In addition, Carr will be responsible for growing a network of contacts in key professional organizations to promote Wachovia and will continuously look for opportunities where he can play a key role marketing Wachovia to potential candidates through sponsorships and speaking engagements. Carr will be based in New York.

Prior to Wachovia, Carr was a Director and Sales Manager in the Agency and Trust Group of Global Transaction Services, within Citigroup Global Markets. Previously, he worked in Institutional Sales for Citigroup Alternative Investments and also served as Citigroup Asset Management's Alternative Product Manager. Carr spent more than 20 years at Citigroup's Salomon Smith Barney unit, where he was a Director in the Private Equity Group and Pension Services Group. Carr earned his B.E.S. from Johns Hopkins University, where he also serves as Trustee, and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
