John Ciccarone Hired by Wachovia's Global Payment Services Group as US Dollar Payments and Americas Region Market Consultant

Charlotte, N.C. - Wachovia announced today that John Ciccarone has joined the International Division's Global Payments Services Group as vice president and market consultant for the Global Financial Institutions Americas and US Dollar Payment Products groups. Ciccarone will report to Sheila Gray, director and manager of the Global Payments Consultants Group.

"John brings extensive knowledge in the international payments industry to this position," Gray said. "We're confident that he will play a valuable role in leading our strategic international product development initiatives."

Ciccarone will be responsible for leading the Division's global and regional business product development strategy, in addition to serving as market consultant for the Americas Region. He will be based in Philadelphia.

Ciccarone joins Wachovia from ABN Amro where he was a vice president in the Product and Services Group. Prior to that, he worked in various positions in the International Division at Bankers Trust. Ciccarone earned his MBA in finance from Temple University.

Global Payment Services

Wachovia's Global Payment Services Group is responsible for coordinating sales, marketing, brand development and product development for Wachovia Bank's core international payment, check and collections and account services. The group delivers payment solutions to the bank's traditional customer segments, including financial institutions around the world, embassies, government agencies and multilateral organizations.
