The Price Gilbert, Jr. Charitable Fund was established under the will of Price Gilbert, Jr. in 1973. Mr. Gilbert made bequests to the Georgia Tech Foundation with preference for the Price Gilbert Memorial Library, the Atlanta Speech School, the University of Georgia Foundation for the Gilbert Infirmary, and Northside Methodist Church.
The remainder of his estate funded the Price Gilbert, Jr. Charitable Fund. Wachovia serves as Trustee to a portion of the successor fund.
The Price Gilbert, Jr. Charitable Fund is to "distribute to such charitable and/or educational institutions in the Atlanta area as selected by my said Trustee...as are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service..."
All grants are made to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations in the Atlanta area, taking into consideration the charitable intent of Mr. Gilbert. Consideration will be given to the Georgia Tech Foundation and the Atlanta Speech School in grantmaking decisions.
There is a separate but similarly named foundation, the Price Gilbert, Jr., Foundation, of Atlanta, and inquiries may be made to it directly.
