MGN FAMILY FOUNDATION
I wanted to start a Foundation years ago with my mother, since we shared the same values and the desire to share our good fortune with others. It would have been wonderful to discuss our many options together. But I soon realized she had passed the time of comprehending such matters; that her Alzheimer's had begun its invasion, and that one day I would create a Foundation without her.
As I begin this process, I am filled with happy anticipation and am sustained by the support of my family; my husband of 30 years, Bob, and my granddaughter Misty, share my dream to create a foundation and distribute aid to others. I wish to carry on my mother's generous and lifelong tradition of giving.
It is my father to whom I owe my deepest gratitude. The son of Friedrich Goetze of Burscheid, Germany, he came to America as a young man, to create his own company, the Goetze Gasket & Packing Company in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Devoted to his business, my mother and me, my father died of a heart attack at age 54. At his death, he left a trust for his family, which I recently inherited upon the death of my mother, who died at age 94. Both my parents taught me from an early age to go the extra mile, to think of others as myself, to love God and my neighbor, to be generous, and experience the joy of giving - which I have!
My philosophy and mission is to share my blessings with others, and to leave the world slightly better than I found it.
As a conservative, I want to see this Foundation, out of compassion and concern, help others to enhance their lives and the communities in which they live.
