GRANT GUIDELINES


Mission and Goals: 

The purpose of the Finch Foundation is the improvement of the mental, moral and physical well-being of the inhabitants of Thomasville, North Carolina, with emphasis on improving education, improving health related facilities and attracting new business to the community.  However, grants are made for a wide variety of charitable causes throughout the greater Thomasville area.

In general, grants are awarded for seed money, matching funds and general purposes.  Primary consideration is given to projects of a non-recurring nature or to start up funding of limited duration.  Grants are generally not made for typical operational or maintenance-oriented purposes.   

Restrictions:  Grants are only disbursed to organizations designated as tax-exempt under IRS Section 501 (c) (3).  Organizations must also have been designated by the IRS as public foundations.    Grants are only made to organizations located within the corporate limits of the City of Thomasville, NC, or to organizations located outside the corporate limits of Thomasville where the benefits of the grant will inure primarily to the residents of Thomasville.   

Application Deadlines:

  • February 15th for the Spring Meeting
  • October 15th for the Fall Meeting
